If you are a “lifer” in the electrical industry, you have probably spent a fair amount of time explaining to people what you do for a living. The electrical industry isn’t top-of-mind for most people, in part because electrical products are hidden behind walls, in service closets or are hidden in raceways in ceilings, quietly and efficiently bringing power, light and heat to people. They only time you hear about anything electrical in the evening news is when something goes dramatically wrong, and there’s a fire or someone is electrocuted.

You have probably heard about the theory of “Six Degrees of Separation,” and how everyone is six or fewer steps away from any other person in the world.
