Cable pulling device for commercial installations

Jan. 24, 2014
Users simply remove the ceiling tiles and snap the Stingray into the corner of the drop ceiling. The Stingray protects the cables from becoming tangled with the grid and protects the grid from twisting and marring.

Changing the way installers route cable over drop ceilings, Madison’s Stingray pulling tool mounts directly to standard ceiling grid to provide a smooth chase for pulling cable over the grid.  Users simply remove the ceiling tiles and snap the Stingray into the corner of the drop ceiling. It’s designed to be a safe and effective chase for installers to use run their cables through any drop ceiling. The Stingray protects the cables from becoming tangled with the grid and protects the grid from twisting and marring. It even has a slit that runs the length, allowing installers to remove the cables from the tool at any time. When they’re finished users simply pull the Stingray’s tail and slide it off the grid.

“If you work in commercial buildings, you work with drop ceilings and sometimes you need to pull cables up through them,” explains Ron Hill, Madison Electric Products’ product specialist. “This can cause a few problems; you can snag the cables on the ceiling and either tear the cable or bend the grid. Neither is pleasant, and both will cost you time and money."
