US Lamp Inc., Green Bay, Wis., a specialty lighting distributor, recently won a lighting retrofit project for the Kiel, Wis., school district that should slash the electrical bill for the town by more than $64,000, with some healthy incentives from Wisconsin's Focus on Energy program. Kiel's Meeme Elementary will realize an annual energy savings of $3,032.73 and will receive $2,713 in incentives from Focus on Energy. Zielanis Elementary will realize $16,295.01 in annual savings and receive $14,202 in incentives from Focus on Energy. The Kiel Middle School will realize $16,295.01 in annual energy savings and receive $24,306 in incentives from Focus on Energy. The town's high school will realize $28,723.36 in annual energy savings and receive $22,819.11 in incentives from Focus on Energy.

Focus on Energy is Wisconsin utilities' statewide energy efficiency and renewable resource program funded by the state's investor-owned energy utilities and participating municipal and electric cooperative utilities. Focus on Energy has been in existence since 2001.

In other news as US Lamp, Randy Johnson, the company's president, was recently selected to teach two energy courses for Xcel Energy in Denver, Colo., He will be teaching a half-day course for Xcel Energy employees on June 13th and a full-day course for Xcel's account managers and key accounts on June 14th. He has 28 years of experience in the lighting industry and has had a LC (Lighting Certified) designation since 2000.
