Sonepar USA has donated $10,000 to Covenant House Pennsylvania, a non-profit organization that focuses on the many needs of homeless and runaway youth in Philadelphia.

At its recent Supplier Event at the Downtown Club in Philadelphia, Sonepar USA President Tony Burr presented an oversized check to Jerome Kilbane, executive director of Covenant House Pennsylvania.

The organization served more than 3,000 youths last year through services that include street outreach; a 51-bed crisis center for youth; and Rights of Passage, a transitional housing program that prepares youth for independence and community-based services. Its services are aimed at keeping youth off the street as well as preventing “at risk” youth from having to turn to the street.

“Sonepar USA believes that it's important to share our success with those who are making a difference in our community,” says Burr. “We're proud to support the Covenant House, an organization filled with individuals who open their doors — and their hearts — to those who have no place to go.”

“Sonepar's support is greatly appreciated,” said Kilbane of Covenant House Pennsylvania. “The majority of our operating budget comes from private sources and without support from organizations like Sonepar USA, we would not be able to continue offering services at our current pace.”
