J.H. Larson Co., Plymouth, MN, is turning 90 years old. In the summer of 1931, near the beginning of the Great Depression, Joe Larson founded J.H. Larson with his wife, Lucille, in Roberts, WI. The first products sold were radio parts and batteries for the booming radio industry. They operated the company out of their home, where Joe conducted sales and made deliveries in a Model T Ford coupe. In 1936, the Larsons opened their first storefront warehouse operation in Eau Claire, WI. The Triangle Conduit & Cable product line was taken on, expanding the company from radio supplies to electrical products.
Now, with over four generations of family leadership in its 90 years, J.H. Larson now sells electrical, plumbing and HVAC products and services through seven locations throughout Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin and is ranked #75 on Electrical Wholesaling’s 2021 150 ranking of the 150 largest distributors. The company also offers premier plumbing and lighting fixtures with four locations of Pahl’s Designer Showrooms in Wisconsin and South Dakota. Current ownership remains in the family with Greg Pahl, CEO and owner, Luke Pahl, president, and Jasmine Pahl, secretary and treasurer.
