K/E Electric Supply formally celebrated its 50/25 Anniversary in grand fashion at The Fillmore Detroit on Jan. 12. More than 500 guests attended the semi-formal event, including customers, employees and vendors. Many guests drove more than 50 miles to attend, with several key vendors flying in representation.
The initial cocktail party permitted guests to review story boards of the company's history, including photos of the founder Wayne Kuchenmeister delivering electrical supplies at the front of the original 1962 wood building. Guests were guided to a strolling dinner with a stage show performed by the Detroit Flyhouse, a Caribbean acrobatic demonstration similar to “Cirque du Soleil.”
The Caribbean themed party featured tropical foods to the music of a steel drum band, lush tropical flowers, until Rock Kuchenmeister, president and CEO, took the stage to award four 10-year and three 20-year employee anniversary gifts.
