The electrical industry members and supporters of the North Central Electrical Manufacturers Club (NCEMC) have donated over a half-million dollars over the past 26 years to make the upper midwest electrical industry, their communities and their world a better place. That's a big number for a small organization of only 185 electrical manufacturer sales representatives serving the Upper Midwest's Electrical Industry, the organization points out.

The NCEMC has tracked its donations back to 1987 and reached the $500,000+ milestone on Dec. 21, 2012, at its annual holiday party in Minneapolis. Their annual Holiday Party contribution of $3,000 this year pushed the NCEMC past the half-million mark at $500,890.00 in contributions.

Where has all that money gone?

  • $331,500 in annual Robert E. Lieb Scholarships awarded to NCEMC members' children that meet basic scholastic criteria and are pursuing an undergraduate degree at a college or technical school;

  • $134,140 in direct charity donations made throughout the years directed to regular meeting speakers' favorite charity, and annual cash donations to local charities at the annual NCEMC Holiday Party;

  • $32,250 in charitable donations from the proceeds of NCEMC's annual Electrical Industry Golf Classic held every August.

And that total doesn't account for the hundreds of hours working as volunteers for The Salvation Army every holiday season via the Red Kettle Krew, the thousands of pounds of non-perishable canned food and hundreds of toys donated over the past 25 years by attendees at the annual December NCEMC Holiday Party and countless additional financial and in-kind contributions NCEMC members have made to area organizations on their own.
