W.A.C. Lighting, Garden City, N.Y., announced two initiatives that celebrate the company's Asian heritage and its new production facility in China.
The company announced plans to take lighting distributors to China as part of its 2008 sales promotion.
“The new promotion offers our distributors a whole world of opportunities,” explains Shelley Wang, general manager.?“Participating dealers are offered the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to mainland China and explore the rich heritage of the country and culture.? They will see the Great Wall, explore the Forbidden City, walk through Tiananmen Square and of course, tour the W.A.C. Lighting state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that encompasses over 750,000 square feet.”
In a separate announcement Tai Wang, co-principal and co-founder of the lighting manufacturer, says the company will become a Diamond sponsor of the Annual Asian-American Cultural Festival of Long Island, which will be held this month at the Wang Center at Stony Brook University.
“We are proud to support the Asian-American Cultural Festival,” says Tai Wang. “This is an exciting event that fosters awareness and appreciation of our society's cultural diversity. The festival unites various Asian ethnic groups under one roof to showcase their heritage and share their traditions. Last year's festival was very successful and attracted nearly a thousand people from both the Asian and non-Asian communities, alike.”
