Trade Service Corp., San Diego, said its Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) is now referenced on more than 500,000 items in its eDataFlex product and pricing service. Since Trade Service began including this information in its database in 2009, more manufacturers have begun to carry the content within their price sheets and catalogs. Commercial project owners, general contractors, architects, engineers and government agencies continue to specify that only products made in the United States will be considered for their jobs. This stipulation has made it increasingly critical that contractors and distributors know in advance where the products they buy, stock, sell and install are manufactured.
“One advantage to having a base of over 20,000 end-user desktops and 7,200 distributor locations relying on Trade Service-provided content is that we are constantly aware of the industry's hottest and most critical data requirements,” says Tony Dubreville, president and CEO. “There's no question that in today's global economy, having immediate visibility into country-of-origin labeling facilitates an efficient flow of product through the channel and ensures that work is performed to the specified requirements of the job.”
