Hands-on training was part of the 2.5-day course on photovoltaic installations that National Electric Supply offered New Mexico electrical contractors as part of its Renewable Energy Extravaganza, held June 15-17. The course was taught by Jim Dunlop (second from right), author of the widely used textbook Photovoltaic Systems. The event included a trade show with representatives from manufacturers of green products and a special ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry that officially kicked off National's new PV solar array system, the largest of its kind in New Mexico as of its commissioning late last year. The PV system currently produces approximately 85 percent of the company's monthly electrical needs.
National Electric Supply's move into renewable energy will be featured as the cover story in next month's issue of Electrical Wholesaling.
