CES and Atlas Lighting Endorse POS Standards

Jan. 28, 2021
Atlas has endorsed NEMRA POS / POT Minimum Recommended Standards, while CES has endorsed POS Minimum Recommended Standards.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) recently announced that Atlas Lighting Products, a division of LSI Industries, has endorsed the NEMRA POS / POT Minimum Recommended Standards as part of its commitment to its reps.

Atlas, known for its U.S.-made indoor and outdoor lighting products, prides itself on being responsive to its distributors as well as its agency network. Said Jon Blanchette, Atlas’ Vice President of Sales, in the release, “Our reps are the face of Atlas to our distributor partners. As we’ve grown the importance of ensuring that our agents are paid appropriately using point of sale information from our larger distribution partners is critical to supporting our reps. We believe in an open and honest relationship with our reps and distributors and supporting POS standards is part of our commitment to our agency partners.”

In other news, City Electric Supply (No. 8 in the 2020 Top 200), has also recently endorsed NEMRA's POS Minimum Reporting Standards.

With over 520 locations in 30 states, City Electric, one of the fastest growing distributors in North America, provides POS information to many of its manufacturers. According to Andrew Dawes, co-COO of City Electric, in the release, “Independent manufacturer representatives are important to us and we want them to be appropriately compensated for supporting our local branches. City Electric was built on the power of local. When we started sharing POS information with manufacturers that we stock in our centralized warehouses we utilized the NEMRA format from the beginning. We’re happy to formally endorse the standards and encourage all of our manufacturers to endorse, and accept, this format.”
