Hubbell Lighting Inc., a division of Hubbell Inc. (Spartanburg, S.C.): David Smith has been named vice president of brand management for the Columbia Lighting and Alera Lighting brands of Hubbell Lighting Inc. Prior to joining Hubbell, Smith spent eight years with Westinghouse Electric Corp., Power Systems Division. In his most recent capacity, Smith was responsible for product portfolio profitability and new product management. He directed all business development activities in addition to being responsible for application engineering. Mark Lien, well known as one of the lighting industry's premiere educators, has joined Hubbell Lighting Inc. as director, Lighting Solutions Center. Prior to accepting his new position at Hubbell, Lien taught in and managed Cooper Lighting's industry education facility. He has more than 30 years' experience in many facets of the lighting industry. For 17 years he managed a lighting center providing industry professionals and end users with lighting design and product. He had spent most of the last decade in lighting education presenting and teaching throughout North America, Asia and the Middle East.
Affiliated Distributors (King of Prussia, Pa.): Peter Wilkes has been named director of supplier relations for the electrical supply division. He will be responsible for further developing and strengthening relationships with existing A-D suppliers and will act as a strong advocate on behalf of A-D affiliates. He comes to A-D with 19 years of supply chain management experience. His background includes serving as the purchasing manager for Wetherill Associates, senior purchasing agent for ABB automation Inc., and senior buyer for Kulicke & Soffa Industries Inc.
Columbia Electric Supply Inc. (Brockton, Mass.): Rob Sampson of Norwood, Mass., has been promoted to branch manager of the company's Taunton, Mass., location. Sampson will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Taunton branch. Sampson, whose experience in the electrical supply industry spans 12 years, has been a member of the Columbia Electric Supply Co. team for the past seven years, most recently as an inside sales representative. Maurice (Moe) Maltais Jr. has been promoted to branch manager of the company's Fall River, Mass., location. In this role, Maltais will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Fall River branch. Maltais, whose experience in the electrical supply industry spans 10 years, has been a member of the Columbia Electric Supply team for the past four years as an inside sales representative.
US Electrical Services LLC (USESI) Ellis Thompson has been appointed president, Southeast region. USESI currently has operations in 11 states, and this announcement opens another new trading area for the company including Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and western North Carolina. Thompson has more than 30 years' experience having spent his entire career in the electrical supply industry in the southeastern United States. Matthew Sevarino has been appointed vice president, finance. Sevarino most recently worked for GE Supply. Previously he worked at the Industrial Systems division of the General Electric Co. and in GE's corporate audit staff.
Leviton Voice & Data, a division of Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc. (Bothell, Wash.): Asef Baddar will lead the company's applications engineering (AE) department as principal applications engineer/applications engineer supervisor. Baddar will lead the AE team as it focuses on the continued improvement of customer-facing deliverables such as phone support, customer complaint resolution, Web content, training, technical publications and general technical customer support services. Baddar brings 13 years of structured cabling experience from General Cabling Co., where he was a senior applications engineer.
Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc. (Little Neck, N.Y.): Daryoush Larizadeh has been appointed to the newly created position of chief operating officer. A member of Leviton's executive committee and senior management team, Larizadeh will serve as chairman of the company's operating committee, overseeing day-to-day operations and execution of Leviton's annual plan and operating budget. With his new position, he will retain responsibility for the company's voice and data, OEM, lighting management systems, international, residential and industrial/commercial businesses. Larizadeh joined Leviton in 2001. In 2005, he was named senior vice president and joined the company's executive committee. Bob Becker has been appointed vice president and general manager of the company's new Residential Business Unit. The new business combines Leviton's Residential Products and Integrated Networks and Controls. Becker joined Leviton in 2003 as vice president and general manager of Leviton Integrated Networks and Controls and is credited with consolidating the company's residential lighting control and structured cabling businesses. He helped grow the market for Leviton's offering of home automation, lighting control, home entertainment and integrated network products and expanded Leviton's residential offering to include a branded audio solution through a strategic relationship with JBL. Becker will focus on expanding the company's line of contractor- and consumer-friendly products, streamlining business processes and developing long term plans for the company's residential business.
Ideal Industries Inc. (Sycamore, Ill.): Brian Thomas has been promoted to district sales manager, responsible for field personnel and large regional accounts in Texas. A veteran of Ideal for seven years, Thomas was previously senior area sales manager in Dallas. He will report to David DiDonato, regional sales manager.
Yale Electric Supply Co. (Lebanon, Pa.) Mark Bucci has been appointed president. G. David Thomas, the company's owner and president, has now assumed the office and duties as the company's chief executive officer. Bucci worked for United Electric Supply of Wilmington, Del., for many years until founding his own manufacturers' representative agency, Electrical Resource Group.
Electrical Resource Group (Wilmington, Del.): Art Ciacciarelli will assume the office of president of Electrical Resource Group, Wilmington, Del. Mark Bucci, who founded the manufacturers' rep firm, left the company to become president of Yale Electric Supply Co., Lebanon, Pa. Karen Parisi will remain vice-president and principal partner.
