Distributor Wire & Cable (DWC) (Denver): Travis Williams was recently named as the company's new chief executive officer. He will assume leadership of DWC and spearhead its strategic and operational direction moving forward. He replaces company founder, Bryce Huett, who stepped away from day-to-day business to spend more time with his family in Texas.
"At DWC, one of our company values is Build 2 Rebuild," explained Laura Kitto, DWC's director of people development, in the press release. "We are always looking to enhance our family and improve our ability to serve electrical distributors. Travis brings a wealth of electrical industry experience from the manufacturing, distribution and master distribution perspectives."
Williams graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he played football for the Midshipmen and earned a degree in economics. He also holds a master's degree in global leadership. After graduating from the Naval Academy, he was signed as a free agent by the Green Bay Packers, but paused his time with the National Football League to spend two years as an active-duty surface warfare officer in the Navy before returning to the Packers in 2003.
Prior to joining DWC, Williams spent 15 years within the electrical industry serving various leadership roles, including executive careers with Grainger, OmniCable, Gexpro and Kris-Tech Wire. In his new role as CEO of DWC, he will help represent the company at the NAED Western Regional Conference in Phoenix, held Jan. 20-22, 2020.
"I am focused on accelerating our continued innovation and enhancing our ability to execute on behalf of our customers. Their success will continue to drive us," Williams said in the release.
