Mayer Electric Supply (Birmingham, AL): Mike Kidney, the company’s East Region VP, is now executive VP and chief sales officer. In this newly created role, Kidney will be charged with envisioning Mayer’s sales function of the future.
“Mike’s role will be focused on sales and sales strategy, evolving the current structure and strategies of today to the necessary structure and strategy to compete and win in the future,” Wes Smith, company president, said in the press release. “This is the next logical step in our strategic evolution. We have placed emphasis on our operational excellence and our digital capabilities, and it is now time to focus on the sales function of tomorrow.”
In related company news, with Kidney’s new role Mayer will consolidate the Northeast Region into the East Region, and current Northeast Region VP Scott Lawhead will take responsibility for the combined territory as East Region VP. Additionally, COO Mike Lamb has been named executive VP and COO to reflect the emphasis and accomplishments of Mayer’s operating group. The changes to Mayer’s executive team are all effective Jan. 1, 2021.
