Expanding their positions in the power quality and energy management segments of the test equipment markets, Dranetz-BMI and LEM formed a strategic partnership to co-brand and co-market selected products and services.

LEM, based in Geneva, Switzerland, manufactures flexible probes and other types of test equipment. The company, which has its U.S. headquarters in Milwaukee, operates facilities in 15 countries.

Dranetz-BMI is a subsidiary of the WPT Group of companies, headquartered in Edison, NJ. Dranetz-BMI engineers and manufactures handheld, portable and permanently-installed power quality and energy management instrumentation for utility, industrial, facility and electrical contractor customers.

The strategic partnership will explore opportunities to integrate the software development capabilities at Dranetz-BMI and its sister company Electrotek Concepts with LEM's product line and market reach, according to the company.

Initially, the partnership will focus on serving the Americas, where Dranetz-BMI and LEM will introduce a new group of handheld power quality and energy analyzers. This newly developed family of handheld products, which includes both single- and three-phase instruments, has been designed to support troubleshooting, power quality/energy survey, and preventive maintenance applications.
