Promotions and New Appointments

At Zenith Controls, Inc., Chicago, Ill., David Coren was promoted to president from executive vice president. Arthur Coren will assume the title of chairman andchief executive officer.

Charles Langworthy was named regional sales manager, Industrial Cable and Brand-Rex divisions, BICC Cables Brand-Rex Co., Willimantic, Conn. He will be responsible for the automotive, petrochemical and contractor markets in lower Michigan and northern Ohio. Most recently, he was in industrial sales at Anicom.

Susan Schierwagen was promoted to vice president of worldwide sales services at Lutron Electronics Co., Coopersburg, Pa., She will be responsible for establishing a worldwide service department that strategically partners Lutron with customers around the globe. Schierwagen, who joined Lutron as a senior sales engineer in 1988, was promoted to Eastern regional sales director in 1995.

At Southwire Co., Carrollton, Ga., Ron Hoover was named field sales representative for middle and east Tennessee. Previously, he held international engineering and management positions with Schlumberger International and spent two years in Kuwait extinguishing oil-field fires. Tom Feissle was named field sales representative for Missouri and central and southern Illinois. He was most recently territory sales manager for EBSCO. Joe Dalton was promoted to field sales representative for New Mexico. He was formerly the purchasing manager in the company's Wire and Cable division.

George Mergel was appointed to distribution sales manager at Jefferson Electric, Inc., Milwaukee, Wis. Prior to this appointment, Mergel held a variety of sales, marketing and management positions at Acme Transformer in North Carolina.

At Gould Circuit Protection Group, Newburyport, Mass., Russ Bernstein was promoted to market development manager for Shawmut's new busbar system, PowerBar. Kamel Daouk was promoted to Eastern regional a sales manager.

At NxTrend Technology, Inc., Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Cornell was named president and chief executive officer. Guy Lammle, the founder and current president and chief executive officer, will continue as chairman of the board. Most recently, Cornell was president of North American operations at JBA International, Inc.

Bill Barnhart was appointed national sales manager for Sea Gull Lighting, Riverside, N.J. He recently ended a 21-year career with Nutone, Inc.

At Electrical Systems Co., Inc., Indianapolis, Ind., Mike Lowe, formerly vice president of operations at the Indianapolis office, was promoted to company vice president of operations. Ken Clarkson, formerly a project manager, was promoted to director of operations at the headquarters location. Phil Hodson, formerly an installation coordinator in Indianapolis, was promoted to project manager.

At CLS, Hartford, Conn., Todd Gallo was promoted from branch manager to construction manager of the electrical division. Gary Brown was promoted from branch manager to area manager of the electrical division.

Mike Smith was named systems specialist on the consulting team of Shelton, Conn.-based Eclipse, Inc. He was previously vice president of operations and value delivery at Roden Electrical Supply Co., Knoxville, Tenn.

At Streamlight, Inc., Norristown, Pa., Jennifer Pangelinan was named assistant manager, industrial. Pangelinan will assist Walter Kaihatu, recently named director of industrial sales, in managing sales efforts for the company's industrial, safety and fire equipment accounts. Most recently, Pangelinan served as the marketing coordinator for Dynamic Isolation Systems, Inc., Lafayette, Calif.

At All-Phase Electric Supply Co., Benton Harbor, Mich., Eric Larsen, a 20-year veteran of general and operations management, was named the Worcester, Mass., branch. manager. Stephen Cardosi was promoted to drive specialist.

At Greenlee Textron, Rockford, Ill., Bill Shulha was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing. Shulha joined the company in 1995 and served as director of North American sales. Dean Ferb was promoted to vice president of operations. He will be responsible for Greenlee's manufacturing and distribution operations in Rockford and Genoa, Ill., and Fairmount, Minn. Chuck Clark was promoted to plant manager ofthe Fairmount manufacturing facility.

At Producto Electric Corp., Orangeburg, N.Y., John Fischer, formerly director of manufacturing, was named vice president of operations. The company is known for its Peco line of electrical construction products. Michael Licata was named vice president of sales and marketing. He has experience as a technical sales and marketing consultant.

At Carlo Gavazzi, Inc., Buffalo Grove, Ill., Allan Witten was named Mid-Atlantic area manager, headquartered in Atco, N.J. Tony Benavente was named Northwest area manager, headquartered in Fairfield, Calif. Bill Hamilton was named Central area manager, headquartered in Jenison, Mich.

Tommy Gable was named manager of marketing,wire and cable division, at Southwire Co., Carrollton, Ga., For the past seven years, Gable has served as the company's director of quality. In his new position, he will be responsible for developing objectives, policies and programs for all marketing activities within the wire and cable division.

At Cooper Electric Supply Co., Tinton Falls, N.J., Jay Bricker was named vice president of operations. He was previously vice president of operations for Idlewood Electric in Chicago. Before that, he was employed by Efengee Electrical Supply. Richard Van Antwerp was promoted to vice president of branch development. Jim Daly was appointed regional operations manager. He most recently was branch manager in Bergenfield, N.J. Bob Rathschmidt was appointed regional operations manager in the Southern territory. He most recently was branch manager of the company's Freehold, N.J., branch. Ron Reffler was appointed Southern regional sales manager. He most recently was branch manager for the company's West Berlin, N.J., branch. David Cooper was appointed Northern regional sales manager. He has been with the company for seven years.

At CRC Industries, Inc., Warminster, Pa., Ken Cantwell was promoted to director of marketing, industrial. He was most recently national accounts manager. Dan P. Collins was promoted to national accounts manager, responsible for sales to multi-branch distribution chains and private-label accounts. He was previously a regional sales manager.

Douglas Kirk was promoted to vice president and product manager of King Safety Products, St. Charles, Mo. A 14-year company veteran, he was most recently sales manager.

At Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Syracuse, N.Y., Bob Lester was promoted to manager of technical support. Lester, who has been with the company 19 years, began as an electronic design engineer and moved into technical sales after several years. The company announced the addition of Pat Rando, Ron Conroy and Nancy Santana to its technical support team. The new technical support specialists will provide technical and applications support to sales, distribution, and end-users, and will control and direct the product complaint system to resolve product issues and communicate resolutions to customers.

Bud Drago was named to the newly created position of vice president, marketing, at Simkar Corp., Philadelphia, Pa. Most recently, he headed Listening Post, a marketing consultation company.

Karen Lawrence, formerly national accounts manager, was named product sales manager, Control Cable Products, at American Insulated Wire Corp. Pawtucket, R.I.

Tom Zymanek was recently named director of warehousing and inventory management at Standard Electric Supply Co., Milwaukee, Wis. He was previously with the Allen-Bradley motion control division.

At Crescent Electric Supply Co., East Dubuque, Ill., Scott Boehm was named manager for the supply facility in Sturtevant, Wis. Boehm brings to the position 15 years of industry experience. Steve Mehren moves from the Sturtevant, Wis., facility to become manager of the company's Rockford, Ill., branch. Carl Otterness was named director of sales, working out of the East Dubuque corporate office. Ottereness comes to the position with 25 years of industry experience.
