Wind Farm to Power University of Kansas 100% by 2020

A Dec. 4 report in the Kansas City Star said the University of Kansas is joining several other state universities in Kansas to sign on with Westar Energy to become 100% wind-powered by 2020. The KC Star article said, “The 20-year agreement provides wind energy for a lower cost than KU’s current utility bills, dropping fuel costs 22%, from 2.3 cents per kilowatt hour to 1.8 cents.”
