Chalfant Joins ETIM North America

According to Mary Shaw, ETIM NA’s executive director, the Salt Lake City-based association has recruited almost 30 members.

Chalfant, a provider of cable tray, wire basket and other cable management systems joined the ETIM North America (NA) classification standards association.Chalfant joins almost 30 electrical companies including ABB, Eaton, Atkore and Legrand, as well as distributors like Sonepar, Graybar, Summit and McNaughton-McKay in ETIM NA-led committee activity to build out the classification model according to the needs of the North American electrical market.

As a direct member, Chalfant can participate in as many ETIM NA Product Expert (PE) Groups as their expertise falls. Given the breadth of the company’s offerings, this may include the Power Distribution group, Wire / Cable group and a forthcoming Cable Management group.

“Chalfant looks forward to contributing to, and supporting, ETIM North America,” said Chuck Labow, Chalfant’s president and general manager, in the press release.  “Our parent company, OBO Betterman, has participated in ETIM Germany for years and it has made our company better, made product content better and more importantly, enabled us to serve our customers better. As a company committed to growth, we see the ETIM model as a path forward to supporting our customers and making our product content more accessible.”

According to Mary Shaw, ETIM NA’s executive director, the Salt Lake City-based association has recruited almost 30 members, including eCommerce content providers Distributor Data Solutions (DDS), IDEA, Trimble and BlueVolt, key organizations including IMARK Group, EFC and NEMRA, as well as distributors and manufacturers. ETIM NA recently released 63 Classes comprising over 4200 features / values in English US and expects to release another 250+ classes by the end of the year. The association currently operates three product expert groups encompassing hundreds of product classes.
