Tesla Produces First Cars Made in Shanghai-Based Gigafactory

This marks another significant move for the company, which hopes to expand its reach into the Chinese market

According to a report form MarketWatch, Tesla recently delivered its first cars built in China. The Shanghai-based gigafactory producing the cars is Tesla’s first location outside of the U.S. and is projected to help increase the company’s sales in China.

According to a company tweet, “Tesla will deliver the first China-made Model 3 at Gigafactory 3 plant in Shanghai TODAY. The 15 customers who are slated to get their Model 3s first are Tesla employees.”
