The Mayer Digital Command vehicle is on the road and on a mission to bring the latest and most demanded industrial automation products to customers.

Mayer is a Birmingham, AL-based Rexel USA company that provides electrical supplies, services and solutions across 10 states. In collaboration with Schneider Electric and other partners, it has transformed a customized van into a mobile technology showcase. Outfitted with cutting-edge products, solution systems, and emerging technologies, the Mayer Digital Command vehicle is currently making its way across the southern United States. Its stops include Mayer branch locations, tradeshows, universities and customer facilities—bringing innovation straight to the doorstep.

“Our customers want more than just a product demo — they want to engage, ask questions, and understand how these technologies can solve real-world challenges,” said Bill Stone, vice president of digital buildings and factories at Mayer, in the press release. “The Digital Command vehicle gives us a unique opportunity to have those conversations in person. It’s not just about showcasing innovation —  it’s about building relationships, solving problems, and helping our customers navigate their digital transformation journeys.”

That people-first approach recently paid off during a factory visit, where a customer mentioned having to replace a motor every four months. A component onboard the vehicle turned out to be the perfect solution — solving the issue on the spot.

Powered by Generac, the Mayer Digital Command vehicle features a rotating lineup of products from leading brands including Cisco, Fluke Corporation, Hubbell Incorporated, Milwaukee Tool, nVent HOFFMAN, Telemecanique Sensors and Weidmuller. Its modular design allows for quick and easy updates to the product selection, ensuring each visit is tailored and relevant.

“The Mayer Digital Command vehicle is a great example of the kind of innovation we champion at Mayer,” said Pat Daley, senior vice president, Rexel USA, and president of Mayer, in the press release. “It’s not just about showcasing products — it’s about creating meaningful, face-to-face experiences that strengthen customer relationships and deliver real solutions. We’re proud to support ideas that bring our people and our customers closer together.”

Currently traveling through Alabama and Georgia, the tour will soon head northeast, with stops planned in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
