Distributor Wire & Cable Opens Midland, TX, Facility
Distributor Wire & Cable (DWC), a specialty wire and cable master distributor opened its newest facility at 4501 N FM 1788, Midland, TX, bringing local will-call and cut-to-length service to electrical distributors serving the Permian Basin.
Until now, DWC's Permian Basin distributors were served out of Dallas or Houston, adding a day or more to orders. The Midland facility is intended to close that gap. Distributor partners in the area now get local will-call pickup and same-day cut-to-length on core product lines, with the same no cut charge, no reel charge, no-minimum terms DWC offers across its network.
Midland will-call inventory includes aluminum, portable cord, instrumentation cable and tray cable. DWC's full catalog, including category cable, medium voltage (5kV–35kV), fire alarm, sound/security and thermocouple wire, remains available to Midland-area distributors through DWC's broader distribution network and FastQuote customer portal, with 24/7 emergency service.
"The Midland facility puts DWC inventory on the ground for our distributors, so what used to take two days now walks out our will-call counter the same afternoon," said Travis Williams, CEO of Distributor Wire & Cable in the press release. "That's what a local presence is supposed to do. We're not chasing this market, we're already in it and now we're closer to the distributors who've been buying from us here for years."
The Permian Basin has seen sustained growth across midstream processing, data center construction and grid infrastructure, driving demand for the specialty wire and cable those projects run on. Midland gives local electrical distributors a source for that demand that keeps pace with it.
According to the press release, DWC has more than doubled its distribution capacity over the past two years and continues to add locations to bring the speed and service the company is known for closer to its customers. DWC sells exclusively through electrical distributors and does not sell directly to contractors or end users. Its value-added services include custom cutting, striping, dyeing, twisting, and paralleling, backed by a growing network of distribution centers across the country.
