The New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNYC) recently announced a call for entries for its 2021 Lumen Awards. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Jan. 8, 2021. The awards are presented for the Lumen Award of Excellence, the highest level of recognition for permanent architectural application; the Lumen Award of Merit, for meritorious recognition for permanent architectural application; and the Lumen Citation, which gives special recognition for an art installation, technical detail, portion of a single project, temporary installation or other work.
Eligible projects include any interior or exterior architectural lighting design project completed within two years' time of the submission deadline. Projects may be re-submitted during the years a project is eligible. Projects must also be designed by a NYC-based designer(s) for a project located anywhere in the world, or the project must be located in NYC regardless of the location of the designer(s).
