Lonestar Electric Expands into Alabama with Acquisition of Redstone Electric Supply

Key Highlights

  • Alabama's booming industrial sector, driven by aerospace and manufacturing, presents significant growth opportunities for the combined company.
  • This move follows Lonestar's recent expansions in Louisiana.

Lonestar Electric Supply, Houston, TX,  has acquired Huntsville, AL-based Redstone Electric Supply, marking the Houston company’s entry into Alabama and further expanding its growing national footprint.
Redstone Electric Supply supplies equipment, parts and lighting solutions for commercial, industrial and federal construction projects, just as Lonestar Electric Supply does. The two companies also provide project management, custom logistics and financial structuring to streamline material tracking and project execution from bidding to completion. Both are channel partners of ABB. The acquisition was completed Oct. 5. Redstone Electric Supply will keep its name as it now operates under the umbrella of Lonestar Electric Supply at its Huntsville facility. All Redstone employees will join the Lonestar organization.
“Redstone’s approach mirrors our own, positioning itself as a problem-solving partner that is there 24/7 for clients and partners with top vendors and brands,” said Jeff Metzler, CEO, Lonestar Electric Supply, in the press release. “With this acquisition, we are establishing a foothold in Alabama, starting with the Huntsville market, which is home to a diverse economy anchored by aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing and technology. Customers should continue to see excellent service during this transition.”
Blake Hulgan, president of Redstone Electric Supply, said Alabama is primed for growth in the electrical supply industry. “Last year, the state announced a record 234 new or expanding industry projects, representing significant investment in Alabama’s industrial infrastructure and creating significant demand,” he said in the press release. “Joining Lonestar provides our local team with the inventory, solutions and scale to deliver for our partners across the Southeast. With electrification demand at an all-time high, we look forward to making it happen in Alabama.”
This summer, Lonestar Electric Supply acquired Industrial Cable Solutions in Louisiana, building on recent expansions across New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette.
